 Singer/songwriters, Sweetie & I'man! 

Where did you both grow up? We both grew up in New York City. 

What inspired you to get into music? We grew up listening to different genre of music and were inspired to start writing and singing. 

How did you two get together? We both attended the same college in New York. 

What is a songwriting session like for you both? Normally, we go by what inspires us. For example, riding the subway in NYC, we are exposed to so many different cultures and diversities where an idea can pop up in our heads that we would write it down and further explore in our studio. 

What inspires you to create? Life events and inspiration from others. 

What is your music scene like? Continued support from our fans, including other indie artists around the world. 

Do you collaborate with other artists? We would definitely love to collaborate with other artists in the future. We have some singles in the works, and have a few artists in mind we would love to work with. 

Before Covid19, did you perform live often? Yes, we usually perform in the New York Tri-State area. 

Tell us about your latest project. We are currently working on our 1st studio album 

What can we expect from you in the future? More albums and collaboration with other artists.

Sweetie & I'man

 

Tricia McPherson Richards,  Clive Richards known by their stage names Sweetie Tamford, I'man Iron (Sweetie & I'man) are singers-songwriters,  recording artists-producers and Podcaster in  New York City. Sweetie Tamford was born in Kingston Jamaica and moved to New York City in her early teens, and  has been singing and writing songs since 2005. Sweetie was inspired by Whitney Houston, and her voice has been  compared to Tina Turner and Amy Winehouse, with her own personal flavor. Sweetie songwriting skills are creative and versatile that enables her to write different genre of music.  

Sweetie Tamford graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from a private university in New York City, New York before venturing into the music industry. Sweetie is fashion  conscious with her own unique style that complement her   music. Sweetie states that she would love to one day   collaborate with singer Rihanna. Sweetie Tamford was exposed to different types of music at an early age. As a result, this diversity in music has influenced her creative songwriting skills in terms of not limiting her music to any one particular genre. Sweetie labels her music as "Alternative," including Rock, Pop and Reggae.  

I'man Iron was born in Kingston Jamaica and has been singing and writing songs since 2000, and took a "long" hiatus from his music to focus on his education. I'man Iron has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology/ Natural Science, a Master's Degree in Social Science, and is licensed as a professional psychotherapist. In 2012, I'man returned to his passion "songwriting," vocalist and playing guitars, including acoustic, electric and occasionally bass. I’man Iron like Sweetie Tamford, has his own unique singing style that is smooth, cool and compelling. I'man considered himself a versatile musician who is able to reach a diverse audience of music lovers from Pop, Rock, Reggae and Neo soul. Some of I'man music influences include Bob Marley and James Ingram .  

In 2014 Sweetie Tamford collaborated with an equally and talented singer-songwriter I'man Iron. Working with I'man proved to be productive. As a result, Sweetie Tamford and I'man Iron decided to work together as a duo. "Sweetie & I'man" is affectionately embraced by Fans in the United States and  international. Sweetie & I'man continued promoting their single "No More Lies, EP-Glow and now available new album Here We Go." Originality and uniqueness make Sweetie & I'man "stands out in a crowd." Sweetie loves to entertain, and states that "I could not see myself doing anything else than my music." I'man believes "when creative minds work well together greatness can be achieved."
